Fic Readers Advisory is dedicated to two principles:
1. Strengthening critical analysis skills and the ability to articulate what we like or don't like about a story.
2. Recommending what we like - and, as with above, explaining what about those fics work for us and why.
We will approach these in a few different ways. For more information on each, please see our What it is and how it works sticky post!
Scavenger Hunts
Themed Rec Posts
Rec Request Posts
There will be a new Scavenger Hunt and Themed Rec post every week and a new Rec Request post at the beginning of each month.
Some Important Rules:
1. This is about the fics, not the writers. Commentary and criticism should focus on the stories themselves.
2. No hating on tropes/story elements/what not. If you don't like that week's trope, just wait til the following week.
3.Not everyone is going to agree and that's okay. Feel free to dive in and discuss if something that didn't work for you worked for another reader, but remember to be respectful. No personal attacks.
4. Remember to include warnings! All warnings on the fic should be reposted with the link.
